Lake is ready.....without much snow on top the whole lake is just like a big skating rink...there were snowmobile actions too...BJ's huts (8~9 of them)are something like 4x6~8' ,for mobility I believe... and there are "Foster Fishing Centre" markings on them...gotta take few days for BJ to figure out where to locate these huts....nobody ever ice-fished Rice before, remember?
I believe Bewdley will be busier than summer time...BJ's & Captain's ramps make good access point for drive-outs later in the season when the ice is safe for that matter..

I usually fish Whities for opener ice condition permitting...not looking good this time
As for Zone 17...well, Rice, Scugog if you ask me...
If you dont have any snow machine to search around with, and before the ice is good for driving out your best bet is to try some popular access points and let the pack show you where the fish are... and then from there develope your own spots....dont leave home without the binoculars...

....and by 1/1 night time hopefully from the popular messageboards there will be some pointers about fishing & ice condtions about the other Kawarthas...play safe
