Because of its simple straight forward shape, I feel less resistance when it is vertically jigged and the tension between the spoon and your rod tip is kept at most of the time. easy to tell when there is a change in the resistance and that could be a fish.  I just started to learn jigging in deep waters and I found kastmaster suit me fine more than other spoons.
