Sauble Beach is a nice small town. My friend said it was just like Wasaga beach 20 years ago.
Wasaga Beach is the longest fresh water beach, Sauble is the second.
But I don't look at this way, Sauble beach won't become Wasaga, because there is no highway connection. In my opinion, Sauble beach is nice, no only very fewer people, the sand is better, so as the water.
I went there yesterday. It is a very nice small town to visit and do window-shopping. If you want to swim, you can drive and park (free of charge) directly to the beach and swim there. The beach is rather big and not many people there. There is a lot of space to park and fly kites and walk (jog)around. If you want to rent a motor boat, you need to pay 80 bucks for an hour and they will show you how to ride through the waves.......
Food there is not very expensive either.
Only thing is the sand is not that soft and clean compared to the beaches I have been before but it is acceptable. One of the best places to enjoy sunset.

have never been to sauble beach, heard the water there is much much cleaner and clearer than wasaga, and a lot less crowded, is that true ?
