Over all walleye fishing this season is excellent, even better than
Crappie.....They are very active, we caught fish soon as we started
fishing, they were biting everything from Jerkbaits to Mimic Minnow and
lots on a jigs. We caught fish all through the day till late evening.
Our best was a 5lb and a 6.1lb.

They are still getting lots of whities and rainbows up there in G-bay and also the odd salmon too... I rather be out catching fish in deeper water but as we all know walleyes are more common so people rather go catch them. Some people has never even seen or caught a rainbow or whities. One day I hope to introduce it to people.

Hint:
Just Go the mouth of the Otonabee River and they will be there, you have to find out yourself what depht they are in for that time of the day that you are fishing. But if you don't want to drive too far just stay in Bewdley, fish the North side of the lake and stay between 8 to 12 fow depending on the time you that are out fishing. I see so many people just follow other people and they expect to catch fish that way. Man that will take so long to figure out the fish. Now days we have the all mighty "Internet". There is no reason to follow other anglers and expect to catch fish. Know what fish you want to target and read up on them, you can find lots of information from the Internet or forum like this one. If you read up on walleyes you will have a understanding of what they are doing and what depht they in at this time of the year. "Knowledge" is power everyone

Good luck in your Tournie! I should be working out there this weekend but if plans change I will be going to fish off shore. THE LOCKS ARE ALL OPEN THIS WEEKEND. Locks are the best way to catch numbers of walleye without a boat, but it's got to be the right time. If I do go I will give a report.
