Match Angling Club of Ontario 's invitation

Dear OCAA(real name):

I would like to invite you and your club members to fish at some of MACO’s tournaments. Your club has many members and I am sure that there are anglers who would like to fish using floats and natural baits. We fish for many species but mostly for carp and sunfish.

About MACO, The Match Angling Club of Ontario (MACO) is a NON-PROFIT organization which will host a series of live release shore based fishing tournaments.  MACO events will provide an excellent payback and prize structure due to the non-profit nature of the organization.

MACO will also provide an excellent atmosphere of sportsmanship which will allow both novice and experienced anglers to compete in world class fishing competitions.  One of the club's main objectives is to emphasize respect for ALL species of fish and their environment and to aspire to the highest level of sportsmanship among anglers

MACO tournament/match

At the start of a match the entrants draw for a “peg” or spot on the shore.   These pegs are about 10 yards apart and evenly spaced along the bank.   This peg is where you fish for the duration of the match, trying to catch the highest total weight possible from your peg.   The fish are kept alive and healthy until weigh-in in a large, fish friendly, fine mesh net called a keepnet and are all released unharmed after being weighed. We fish on Sundays between 8am and 1pm

We use natural bait, not artificial bait, catch and release only, all fish are released after being weighed.

Tournament fee is $20,

At each of these events there will be draw prizes, trophies, cash prizes and most of all a lot of fun and great people. To PRE-REGISTER (which is recommended due to limited amount of pegs that certain locations allow us to provide) please e-mail MACO at info@matchanglingclub.com
