(1) "I saw bass schooling.......", I'd guess you were targetting SM. Well, you saw them, they saw you and those lucky ones saw their less lucky brother fighting with you, and were scared the sh!t out them, so they decided to hide, that's why! So, unless you are purely looking for the enjoyment of playing fish with light-action gears, otherwise you should rig up to land the fish with least fighting time possible to improve the numbers. I don't suppose the marker splash will do more harm to the schooling up of fish than the lure does. Home-made marker? You need to use flat bottles, those with rectangular X-section are good choice, round ones will give out lines with wave/flow. For this matter nothing beats a "Listerine" bottle, which has different sizes too, tie a pc of fouled spark plug you collected from the auto shop to the line and you are good to go. If you don't use Listerine, go inspect your neighbours' re-cycle box :-)

(2) When a fish strikes, the hook-up rate of spinner baits should be close to 100%, for buzz baits 1 for 3 is about average, therefore depends on how heavy the weed cover is, one should always put spinner baits on top of the list. While casting buzz bait, you see the fish boils, you better stop cranking and  DON'T set the hook until the fish pulls you...during that short moment you can give the lure a couple of short twitch, for bigger fish they will re-take the bait after the miss almost immediately, or it will take cover close by and ready to strike again. Usually when the fish misses the bait, I'll use the same lure, with different rythms to cover that spot to 50' diameter in 10 to 20 casts before I move (troll) on. Why mark the spot if you are not moving? Yeah, change lure whenever you think fit, and leave no regrets. When the action is super slow, hook a worm put it under a red/white float, the bigger the better as that will screen away the little critters, sit back and have a cold one, and pull out the binoculars to spy on other boats for any action. Or find a shore line in the shade, anchor the boat and have a nap, if you call that strategy too:-)

One point is: if at slow day, I got a strike with a spinnerbait and land this fish in no seconds. should I beleive there are more LM bass there waiting for the spinnerbait? Should I assume in this spot there are more LM bass not as active as the unlucky one and I should change bait?  I tried a couple of times ... one spot one fish ... 1 out of 5 times, one more fish ... Should I stick to this spot and even change bait but stick to this spot? Or I should try a couple more minutes with same bait(in this scenario, I will cast spinner for 10 or 20 times) to check out if if there is a small school or class-level :)?

Another point, when fish is active, should I stay that spot for some minutes with same bait? If stay for a while, how long do you think I should stay? 50' diameter in 10 to 20 casts seems a fair and "affordable" answer :D

I will bring some worms this weekend in case dog day .... find a shore and try any fish ... e.g. bullgill ...:((

It is not true ... actually I rewarded myself $50 for each (LM only;).

Last year I got totally 1 LM (0.7lb)... so I only buy a couple of bags of softlure ... this year ... I can upgrade rods, reels, lines ... Thanks to this year's rains.
