Headed out to Simcoe for Whities. Got really stuck in the slush. Thanks a lot for your help and rescue. Our thanks to your Uncle and friend. Heard you helped a few other anglers too.
From the first look, I know your lure will work for sure. It really works well even with different colours of tails.
For those considering to drive out there, bring along a towing chain or ropes, a shuffle and a pair of tracks or old carpets. I got all those except one powerful truck to tow me out.
Powerful trucks dont come
Powerful trucks dont come handy all of the time
The other option is to install an electric winch at the hitch...make a 2 feet long stopper out of 3"x3" iron angle bar with a 1/2" eye-bolt fastened to the middle of the stopper....when the time COMES, punch a hole 50' behind the vehicle in trouble, pull out the wire from the winch, hook it up to the eye-bolt and drop the stopper into the hole, the stopper will level by itself underneath the ice acting as a solid puller when the winch is in action...only put the winch to work with the engine running you dont wanna dry out the cranking battery accidentally...to make the process more efficient, clear all packed snow drifts under the chassis by use of a hoe...not shovel
