I always use lip gripper to handle those toothy critters...I found it easier to unhook them in the water without boating them too....but again some might think the gripper will damage the lower jaw of the fish.... oh well, the choice is yours ;-)

we got that thing but dont like using it, we found that its not easy to clip onto the lower jaw as most pike usually refuse to open their mouths , so we just bare hand it for smaller pike and using gloves for bigger ones, works faster, thanks anyway
