Alcoholic Beverages: You are permitted to consume or possess open alcoholic beverages on a registered campsite only. A total alcohol ban is in effect the week proceeding and including the Victoria Day Weekend (phone the park information line at (519) 243-2220 for specific dates). During this period, possession of alcohol is prohibited in Pinery.

Bicycles: Are allowed only on paved roads and the bicycle trail. Since they cause damage to the trail surface, and are a nuisance to hikers, their use on all other trails is prohibited. Cyclists 17 years of age and younger must wear a helmet.

Campfires: Fires are permitted in designated fireplaces only.

Camping Equipment: Without a limit on the amount of camping gear allowed, sites would quickly deteriorate, eventually destroying surrounding vegetation. The limit is 3 pieces of shelter equipment (only one of which can be a trailer.)

Camping Permits: You are required to vacate and remove all property from your campsite by 2 PM on the date your permit expires. A maximum of 6 persons are allowed to occupy a site and the maximum length of stay is 23 days.

Entry to the Park: All visitors must enter through the main gate of the park. After eviction, you are prohibited from entering any Provincial Park for 72 hours.

Fireworks: Possession or use of fireworks is prohibited at all times.

Fishing: Ontario residents between the ages of 18 to 65 are required to purchase a fishing license. Nonresidents please check fishing regulations.

Hours of Closing: Only registered campers are allowed in the park during posted hours of closing; 10 PM to 8 am.

Motorized Vehicles: Licensed motor vehicles may operate on roads only. All provisions of the Highway Traffic Act apply on all park roads at all times. Off-road vehicles are not permitted into the park because of environmental damage that results from their use. Each vehicle in the park must have a valid permit on display.

Parking: All vehicles must be parked in designated areas. Only one vehicle may be parked on a campsite. An Additional Vehicle Permit only provides for a second vehicle to be parked in a specific Additional Parking area. Permits must be in full view at all times to allow staff to monitor the status of each vehicle.

Pets: All domestic animals must be kept on a leash not exceeding 2 metres, at all times. Under the Public Health Act, pets are not allowed in swimming areas or on the beach at any time. You must clean up after your pet.

Park Resources: Laws in provincial parks protects all vegetation, wildlife, and natural features. Nothing, including wild flowers and dead wood, may be picked, removed or damaged. Picking wild flowers can kill the plant and remove the seed source. Dead wood is protected as it provides homes for wildlife and replenishes the soil as it decays.

Refuse/Litter: Deposit all garbage and litter in the containers provided to discourage raccoons and other wildlife from becoming pests. Leave your campsite in a clean and natural state at all times.

Rowdyism/Noise: Rowdy behaviour, including excessive noise and obscene language, is not permitted at anytime. You are not allowed to disturb any other person or interfere with anyone else's enjoyment of the park at any time of the day or night.

Speeding: Excessive speeds are dangerous to wildlife and park visitors who may be walking, riding bikes or driving. The speed limit is 40 km/h on all main park roads and 20 km/h on campground roads.

Watercraft: Powered watercraft may not land, launch or be nearer than 30 metres from shore in designated swimming areas. Swimming areas are marked with white buoys. Red and green buoys mark where watercraft can enter and leave the shore areas. Motors of any kind are not permitted in the Old Ausable Channel.
