<P>Hook size is usually numbered in the following order:-</P>
<P>(smaller)14,12,8,6,4,2,1,1/0,2/0,3/0,4/0(larger) ,etc</P>
<P>Took some <STRONG>GAP</STRONG> measurements of the hooks in hand:-</P>
<P>(size-approx.gap dim.) 12-6.2mm, 10-7.2mm, 8-8.4mm, 2-13.4mm, 2/0-15.0mm.......hope these will give you some idea about hook size</P>

<P>Fishing lines are usually labelled with "line diameter" on the spool or the packaging box.....for the same pound-test of different lines, the line diameter varies with the material being used (mono, braided or composite) and their designated usage (low visibilty, low stretch, abrasion-resistant, etc)....here are some references....</P>
